Time: 3 hours. Difficulty: 2.

Trailhead: Take the Trail road from Fort-de-France and shortly after Balata, descend the little road from Absalon to the parking lot. The trail starts at the watering station at Absalon, at the little bridge going to the swimming pool below.

One of the rare forested trails less than 12.4 miles (20k) from Fort-de-France, this path offers an especially easy and relatively short circuit.

The path climbs for 20 minutes along a steep slope to a crossroads. To continue your circuit, follow the marked path on the wooded ridge overlooking the Duclos River Valley.

After a pleasant 45 minute walk on the ridgeline, descend for 15 minutes, crossing two streams to reach the parallel trail on the right, leading back to within 33 feet (10m) of the departure point.
