Hurricane Forecasts for 2018

The first hurricane forecast model for 2016 from Colorado State University says we should expect a near-average chance of major hurricanes making landfall along the United States coastline and in the Caribbean. At the same time, there should be fewer storms in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico than during a normal season.

Forecasts are never perfect but they are fairly good indicators how active a particular season will be.

The most prominent forecasters are located in both the United States and Europe.

Bermuda and the Cayman Islands both offer vacation protection in the event of a hurricane. But read the fine print. They both have conditions and restrictions and often it's up to your hotel what you receive and what you don't.
