Of all the training camps in the DR, probably the most state-of-the-art is the Dodger's Campo Las Palmas, modeled after their Dodgertown spring training complex in Vero Beach, FL. The 250-acre complex has a 65-bed dorm, dining room, game room, clubhouse and weight room. In addition to on-field training, prospective players are taught English and the basics of U.S. culture. Call ahead (809/526-5249 or +1 809-526-0008 about the possibility of attending a game or watching the training sessions, which are held on weekdays and Saturday.
