Playa Rincon takes more effort than most to reach even though Conde Nast Traveler has ranked Playa Rincon as one of the world's 10 best beaches. Finally, something to replace the outdated list done decades ago by National Geographic Magazine that is still referred to as holy gospel! Dominicans appreciate it, too, with many calling it the most beautiful in the Dominican Republic. Over 3 miles long, Playa Rincon is surrounded by coconut palms and almond trees, plus an imposing 2,000-foot mountain at one end. This isolated beach can be reached by ferry boat from Las Galeras as well as by car. It's worth the extra effort except, well, you may not to leave.
