The Dress Code for Bermuda

The Bermuda dress code is more formal than most islands.

In true British tradition, gentlemen are expected to wear coats and ties for dinner or any formal occasion.

The trademark Bermuda shorts are acceptable with coat, tie and matching shoes and socks.

Bermuda shorts (pants that end at the knee, available in a multitude of colors from tame browns to vivid pastels). Anything shorter should be left at home by men unless they are simply touring.

For the golf course, normal club casual wear in the U.S or Europe is appropriate.

Ladies, of course, are expected to dress a bit more primly and not show quite as much leg on formal occasions.

At the beach, legs and shoulders are fine. Nothing topless.

Everyone should pack comfortable shoes.

To prevent from paying extra for a bicycle helmet, bring one from home.
