The famous Bay Islands are joined by many more attractions | ||||
For Honduras travelers, the best known location probably is the Bay Islands, famous for its scuba diving. (See map.) Ironically, Honduras is a Spanish speaking country, while in the Bay Islands English is dominant due to the long history of British ownership. So, the Bay Islands are hardly representative of Honduras and its rich variety of eco-activities that include visiting Garifuna villages, mountain hiking, verdant rain forest walks and spectacular Mayan city of Copan Ruinas near the Guatemalan border.
